The national sport of Tajikstan is Buzkashi (in Russian, Kozlodran, or 'tear the goat'), which is frenetic polo played by one hundred horseman at once. A goat carcass is the 'ball.' Before the advent of the goat carcass early in the twentieth century, the head of an enemy killed in battle was used. Near Nurek, Tajikistan. March 1992.
