Indivi Sutton

Indivi Sutton (b. 2000, New York, NY)
Indivi Sutton is an emerging artist currently based in Sydney, where she is pursuing a degree in Art History and French at Sydney University and holds a minor in Visual Art from Sydney College of the Arts. Her journey into the art world began at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City, where an early enchantment with color ignited a profound desire to explore its interpretative and evocative potential in her paintings. Under the mentorship of contemporary American painter Paton Miller and through intensive studies in color theory and painting at the Rhode Island School of Design, Indivi honed her unique artistic vision. Her work, created with natural pigment powders on raw linen, resonates with the frequencies of experience and emotion, delving deeply into the nuances of emotional interdependence and the intricate relationship between painting and memory. Indivi made her debut at Sydney Contemporary 2022 in a group show with Saint Cloche and has been featured in prominent publications such as House Magazine in the US, and Belle and Vogue Living Magazines in Australia. Her thoughtful exploration of the invisible threads connecting emotions and memories through color and texture continues to captivate and inspire audiences.
