Sasha Feldman’s new exhibition, TERRORCOTTA!, presents a collection of contemporary artifacts that honor global oral histories of the unknown. Feldman’s latest series draws inspiration from both high and low cultures, delving into myths, monsters, and the boundless imagination of humankind. Motivated by his fascination with “boogeyman” figures, Feldman explores obscure legends from around the world, celebrating the antiheroes that lurk in the shadows, coming to life through storytelling. These myths transcend cultural boundaries, reminding us that no matter where our origins lie, we all share a deep fascination with horror, legends, and the mysteries that elude us. 

Through bright, candy-colored glazes and approachable forms, Feldman references the forgotten or overlooked imaginations that breathe life into these tales. His sculptures serve as artifacts and portals into childhood, where the "boogeyman" is real, and the line between fantasy and reality blurs. This body of work balances lightness and innocence with an undercurrent of darkness, inviting playfulness to creep in at the edges—and vice versa.
