Sense of Place is a selection of recent studio works by Charlie Hudson as well as the premiere of Ex Creta, a film by Jon Portman. This selection of works for this exhibition came into fruition while Hudson was collaborating with Jon Portman to create the backgrounds for the short animation Ex Creta. While collaborating with Portman, Hudson dove into an exploration of space and location from 3 perspectives; seen, imagined and remembered. Through this exploration of site Hudson created the backgrounds and scenery for Portman's characters in Ex Creta while simultaneously creating and finishing a series of paintings also devoid of characters. This playful exhibition highlights collaboration while exploring location and giving a peek into the eclectic practice of Hudson.
