About the event

Tonina is a vocalist and bassist who blends her Afro-Sicilian heritage with diverse musical genres like Jazz, Folk, and R&B. She has garnered acclaim on NPR's favorite new artists list and former President Barack Obama's annual favorite songs list. She performs solo and with her quartet on stages worldwide, showcasing her multilingual repertoire in Sicilian, English, and Spanish.

Otracami is the project of Brooklyn-based songwriter Camila Ortiz, whose intricate art pop combines shimmering arrangements, vivid storytelling, and sharp imagery. On her debut full-length touching the stove coil, released November 2023, Ortiz returns to moments of her past that burn a hot and brilliant red, kept alive in a dangerous glow that tempts her inevitable touch. Within the record, Ortiz examines her teenage self through the lens of her present, which at times feels uncannily close to where she stood nearly a decade earlier, driving around in cars, circling tense relationships, and grappling with selfhood. She returns for a reason, sensing in each song an opportunity to convey an otherwise incommunicable truth.

Jose Benjamin Escobar

Venezuelan-American producer José Benjamín Escobar blends the rhythms of the Caribbean with the melodies and soul of America’s East Coast. Using a classical approach to songwriting, the poetry in his work reflects upon love, death, our shared humanity, and the mysticism of our private selves. He’s collaborated extensively with filmmakers, fashion designers, and many businesses to create unique experiences for audiences across the globe.
