Simon Metzger is a New York City-based jazz drummer, bandleader, and composer. He first discovered his passion for the drums at age three and began formal training at age four. His musical journey of almost twenty years has led him to work with world-class musicians such as Kendrick Scott, Clarence Penn, Peter Erskine, Roy McCurdy, Aarón Serfaty, Jon Hatamiya, Josh

Nelson, and Gerald Clayton.

As a bandleader, Simon has performed his original compositions with various groups at venues across Northwest Ohio, Los Angeles and New York City. His quartet won the 2024 Angel City Jazz Festival Young Artists Competition, receiving a cash prize and an opportunity to perform at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
