Julie Kim & friends LIVE at Ki Smith Gallery

Julie Kim (www.juliekim.info) is a cellist, composer, and creative director whose fascinations have led to a delightfully interdisciplinary and collaborative career thus far. As a creator, her work carries a poststructuralist influence and often employs the use of subtle surrealism in order to examine, play with, and subvert -- or disregard -- conventions surrounding instrumental performance practice. In addition to music, her pieces are typically woven together using some combination of creative writing, movement, and performance art.

On March 18, she will be joined by her friends Neve Jahn, Shayna Dunkelman, and whait (more eaze x wendy eisenberg) for a very special evening of original music.
