About the event

Erica Enriquez

Erica Enriquez (b. 1997, Newburgh NY) is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in New York City. She received her BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2019 and is currently an MFA student at Columbia University School of the Arts with a concentration in Sculpture: Expanded Practice. Her work involves sculpture, video, photography, and sound as collaborators for performance. Erica has performed and exhibited in galleries, venues, and public environments across New York and New England. She is also the leader of CHOO CHOO - an indie rock band which is available to listen to on all streaming platforms.

Miriam Elhajli

Miriam Elhajli is a folk singer, composer-improviser, and musicologist whose work is influenced by the rich musical traditions of her Venezuelan, Moroccan and North American heritage. Elhajli currently lives in New York City where she performs and works as a researcher at The Association for Cultural Equity founded by Alan Lomax. Elhajli's debut LP "Observations" was released this spring on her independent label Numina Records. Elhajli's sophomore album "The Uncertainty of Signs" was released 2/22/22.

Instant Alter

INSTANT ALTER is a reorientation into a new way. A new aesthetic and a new story. These four virtuosic artists join together in service of the art of storytelling, creating a new thread of music as super-bands of the past have done – such as Return to Forever – while integrating grounded Earth Songs that call to the Brazilian Tropicália movement. Within this musical vessel lies an engine room fueled by a powerful and inimitable Bass-and-Drum connection.
