About the event
Devansh is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocalist based in London originally from New York City. He writes genre-bending music that blends together elements of psychedelic soul, modern funk, jazz, indie pop, and world music. After years of co-producing and playing trumpet for other bands, Devansh released his debut album "To Feel Free" in May 2023, including the lead single "What We Don't See" co-produced by Jordan Rakei. It aired on BBC Radio London and was lauded by Stereofox as a "groovy blend of modern funk, soul and indie-pop...with dreamy vocals and synths, crunchy drums and bass grooves, funky guitars, giving off Jungle vibes." Working and performing with the London scene’s top musicians, from Rudi Creswick (bass for Tom Misch) to Ellis Dupuy (drums for Puma Blue), Devansh is fusing his international upbringing and New York jazz background into a singular, exciting, psychedelic sound.
Kingo Halla is a New York City-born singer/songwriter/producer who is based out of Toronto, Canada. Kingo Halla was born Henry Nozuka into a musical family of Japanese-American descent. Nozuka’s alter-ego Kingo Halla was birthed in Toronto, where he grew up writing songs with his brothers. He has a deep passion for vintage instruments, analog gear, and tape machines which shines through in his lush compositions. Kingo Halla fuses jazz, soul, and psychedelia into alternative R&B atmospheres that supports his expressive soulful vocals. His recent releases have gotten featured on BBC Radio 6’s Giles Peterson, CBC Listen, KCRW, Clash Magazine and more. Kingo Halla has collaborated and worked with jazz legend Mike Stern, River Tiber, Justin Nozuka, and he is currently working on his sophomore full-length album with Alex Sowinksi of BadbadnotGood.
Nathan Bajar (b. 1991) is a Brooklyn based filipino american producer, songwriter, and visual artist. His musical inspirations span rock, rnb, pop, and soul. He credits his father’s karaoke obsession with helping him develop an ear for melody and love for singing as well as exposing him to music by stevie wonder, fleetwood mac, larry graham, and todd rundgren. He received a photography degree from Montclair State University and was inspired to start writing his own music while working on photo and video projects with musical artists in his community. He writes songs about his family and everyday experiences.
