The movie Breath is the brainchild of a collaboration among three creative artists. It is a blend of sound and visuals based on an original music score, original paintings and original animation and editing. The initial spark ignited from a conversation as to how to augment the auditory experience of composer Joel Harrison’s jazz requiem entitled “Breath” – a modern interpretation of the traditional musical form inspired by the composer’s experience during the years of the pandemic and the fallout from the world events that ensued. Joel and artist Iliyan Ivanov have previously collaborated on live music/art performances and had been engaged in discussions around their creative ideas related to the trying years since 2019.
