"While my images of Times Square billboards represent a natural progression from the minimal city views that I have been working on for years, they are more specific and focused. Besides the fact that they are all created in a fixed location, they are the result of looking at one of the most visually overloaded places in the world and finding quiet, serene images amidst all the noise. As far as I can tell, they are views of Times Square that have not been seen before."

About the Artist
Kanami Kusajima is a dancer, choreographer, and performing artist based in NYC. She graduated with a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase College in 2020.
