
Ki Smith has worked in the art world since 2008 when he dropped out of high school to work at The Storefront For Art And Architecture. After a year long stint at Storefront he moved to California to study art history and interior design at California College Of The Arts. He first began curating and producing shows in 2011 when he moved to Barcelona to live and work at Studio P52. In 2012 Ki moved back to New York and founded Apostrophe NYC with his brother Sei Smith. For 6 years they directed and ran Apostrophe NYC hosting and curating both solo and group shows including guerrilla pop ups in subway stations, The Whitney and MoMA PS1. In 2016 Apostrophe NYC was given a year long residency at Mana Contemporary. During the residency Ki worked closely with 12 artists to actualize a solo show and Artist book with each of the artists. In 2018 Ki Smith moved on from Apostrophe NYC to start the Ki Smith Gallery were he continues to work along side artist to bring exhibitions and projects into fruition.
